This week's movie is:
Plot: Six distinct stories in which the characters cross paths in different incarnations over five centuries.
Review: Let me start off by saying that you need to have a good chunk of time freed up for this movie with its heavy weight run-time of 2 hours 52 minutes. Although it is a long movie, the stories and characters are unique and engaging enough to keep you invested in them as it weaves from one story to the next. The stories unfold in an unorthodox manner as one story is used to move from present to future to past and back again. Tom Hanks does an excellent job of capturing his many diverse characters, as they flow through time. Halle Berry, who has not always been the strongest of actresses, puts forth a stellar performance. Some of actors are hard to recognize under their heavy, yet very well done makeup, but as you come to know the characters, they become more and more familiar. Because the stories are told out of sequence, and used to tell parts of the other stories, this is not a movie that you can watch idly, but is worth the extra attention. This is a very unique story, something rare these days, with engaging characters, action, suspense, romance, and I highly recommend you go see it!
