So here is my method:
What you will need:
1. A piece of card-stock paper (any color or pattern you prefer, but nothing too busy as you will be writing on it)
2. A ruler
3. A pencil or pen (I prefer pencil so I can erase if I have to)
Procedure:
1. Use the ruler to measure out your desired length and width of your bookmark. I just use the width of the ruler, and the length of the paper (as you can always trim it down when you are finished).
2. Cut out the traced bookmark.
3. Write the title and author of the book at the top of the bookmark. It might seem a little overly-organized to do this step, but trust me, if you leave this bookmark somewhere and it eventually ends up in a different book, you will most likely be reading all the wrong pages for that class! Don't waist your valuable time, take this step seriously!
4. Write the date and the reading that is due down the length of the bookmark. If you run out of room, just flip it over and write on the other side!
5. Trim the bookmark if room is left on the bottom.
I absolutely love this trick! I cannot even tell you how much time it has saved me; all I have to do is pick up a book and I know exactly what I have to read without having to flip through any syllabi.
Hope this helps!

Do you have any tricks that you use for class management? Are there any suggestions for more Method my Madness posts out there?
